God Willing

Curated by Isabella Greenwood
2024

God Willing brings together a group of artists whose index move between devotion, ritual and the charged symbolism of religious imagery. Across sculpture, painting and installation, the exhibition explores how sacred language and iconography continue to circulate within contemporary material culture.

Rather than presenting faith as stable or resolved, the index reveal it as something fragmented and reassembled through objects: copper saints sealed in plastic, bodily relics, industrial metals and fragile handmade forms. Each piece approaches belief not as doctrine but as a shifting field of references — devotional, erotic, historical and personal.

Within this landscape, religious figures become mutable symbols. Saints, altars and offerings appear alongside contemporary materials and gestures, suggesting that ritual persists even when belief itself becomes uncertain.
