ANDREAS’ GYM
ANDREAS’ GYM represents a personal and indulgent moment of self-expression for multi-disciplinary artist, Andreas Stylianou (b. 1990, Cyprus).
His practice harnesses meditation to quiet the monotony of the real world and allow for unfettered access to the eccentric and child-like realm that exists within him.
Here, anything is possible and the artist’s personal choices determine the landscape and scope of the adventures that he embarks upon.
As in the popular video game Pokémon, where players must choose their starter Pokémon, Stylianou’s work similarly invites viewers to engage in a world of endless possibilities.
Employing a variety of mediums including acrylic, clay, oil, pastels, paper, and pencil, he bring the elements of fire, water, and grass to vivid life resulting in a playful and imaginative display that encourages viewers to explore their own inner realms.
